The brut de fût - a new concept
Although cognac is traditionally made by blending eaux-de-vie from different years, we've decided to do an about-turn and offer vintage cognacs. More precisely, our bruts de fût are cognacs drawn directly from a single barrel! So they also fall into the very rare category of single cask.
As soon as it leaves the barrel, the cognac is bottled directly. This allows us to offer you the purest, most authentic product possible. A unique concept for lovers of pure, authentic products.
One important point is that the product has not been processed in any way. There is no added sugar or colouring. 100% natural! What's more, there has been no filtration or reduction, so all the aromatic power of Grande Champagne is revealed.
Cognac is showcased in its rawest form.
Why offer bruts de fût ?
The Guillon-Painturaud estate is fortunate to be ideally located: right in the heart of Grande Champagne, Cognac's 1st growth. The eaux-de-vie distilled by previous generations contain exceptional aromas that we are keen to share.
"Cognac can be made in many different ways, often reduced to traditional blending. However, we are keen to innovate and to show the full range of the world of cognac thanks to this approach, which leaves plenty of room for the terroir without compromising on the know-how and tradition of previous generations, which are strong values for us. It therefore seemed obvious to us to produce brut de fût to underline the uniqueness of these cognacs".
