The Pineau des Charentes assembly workshop
This one-hour activity is a guided workshop. We start by explaining the AOC Pineau des Charentes and then explain how this drink is made. We also talk about grape varieties, vintages, ages and aromas...
Then it's up to you! In front of you, you have 3 pineau of 3 different ages (white or rosé, your choice!). You start by tasting each pineau individually to appreciate its aromas. After that, you can do your blending tests. Do you prefer a pineau that's fruity, not too sweet, not too acid? It's up to you to decide and test the blend according to the age you prefer. Once you've made your choice of blend, you can fill your own 50cl bottle of Pineau des Charentes and leave with your own creation!
A wine tasting workshop in Charente
If you are interested in wine tasting and want to take home a souvenir from Charente, this is the activity for you! You will be welcomed at a wine estate, specifically one run by independent winegrowers. For several generations, Guillon-Painturaud has specialised in Pineaux des Charentes, particularly aged Pineaux. The Pineaux wines offered at the estate have been aged for a long time and therefore develop complex and very aromatic notes, with a beautiful length on the palate.
Cet atelier d’oenologie vous permet de réellement comprendre ce qui se passe derrière la production d’un pineau des Charentes, et de rendre hommage à cet apéritif charentais qui est en réalité bien plus qu’un apéritif.
Après l’Atelier Pineau, en boutique, vous aurez l’occasion de déguster des vieux et très vieux pineaux de la maison et également des pineaux millésimés.
